Worth the Wait: Another COMC shipment (Part 1)

A few weeks ago, I posted about my January COMC shipment and alluded to another shipment.  It arrived eight days ago.  Between that and a trade with John Lamica, I’ve been busy getting pics and making posts.  This shipment is large enough that it needs two posts.  So, here’s the first half from COMC.

Inception

A 2018 Topps Inception Chance Sisco (#70), 2020 Topps Inception Purple Jose Ramirez (#98), a 2021 Bowman Inception Nick Lodolo (#6), and a 2023 Topps Inception Graham Ashcraft (#BRES-GA).

Be prepared for lots of Ashcraft autos, Jose Ramirez, and Nick Lodolo cards in this shipment.

Bob Ross

Who didn’t watch the man when they were home sick?  In 2023, Topps capitalized on his fame and released a Bob Ross-inspired set.  Sarah gave it a big thumbs up.

Top row:  JJ Bleday (#22) and Esteury Ruiz (#88)

Second row: Ryan Mountcastle (#74), Johnny Bench (#87), and Spencer Steer (#3)

Topps Gold Label

All cards Class 1 base cards except the first one.

Top row: 2022 Black parallel and base Nick Lodolo (#6) and 2018 Barry Larkin.

Bottow row: 2019 Jose Ramirez (#20) and 2017 Johnny Bench (#36) and Randy Johnson (#61).

There’s a lot of Randy Johnson in the shipment too.

Pro Bowlers!

First, a 2014 Allen & Ginter Mark Roth (#211).  Fun facts: I am an ambidextrous bowler because I tried to imitate Earl Anthony.  But, my love of throwing as hard as I possibly  can comes from the legendary Mr. Roth.  When I converted the 7-10 split on my birthday in 2022, I finally had something in common with him.

There’s also a 2019 Goodwin Champions Pete Weber Splash of Color (#146) that looks a bit like the ball in his legendary celebration.  He was also the victim of a poorly designed trophy.

Jeff Burroughs

First off, condolences to the Burroughs family.

I got a 2023 Topps Heritage Then and Now of Jeff Burroughs and Aaron Judge (#TAN-12) as well as Jeff’s 1974 Topps (#223) during his MVP season.

Graham Ashcraft

If he stays healthy and continues to develop, this will be a great investment.  Emphasis on IF.

Top row:  2023 Topps Tribute autograph (#TA-GA) blue and base and a 2023 Finest autograph (#FA-GA).

Bottom row: 2023 Topps Chrome Update autograph (#AC-GAA) base and aqua wave refractor and a 2023 Topps Chrome refractor autograph (#RA-GA).

Jose Ramirez

I didn’t plan to post this on Kylie’s birthday, it just worked out that way.

Row 1: 2015 Topps Heritage (#684), 2018 Topps rainbow foil (#418), 2022 Bowman magenta (#67), and 2020 Topps Turkey Red (#28).

Row 2: 2022 Topps Stars of the MLB (#SMLB-7), 2019 Topps Heritage purple refractor (#THC-491), 2014 Donruss The Rookies (#41), and 2019 Topps Chrome pink refractor (#127).

Row 3: 2022 Topps Chrome Update Sapphire with Amed Rosario (#US-302), 2018 Topps Chrome Update pink refractor (#HMT64), and 2020 Topps gold foil with Francisco Lindor (#U-256).

Row 4: 2022 Topps Heritage ’79 Comic (#73TC-15), 2018 Toppps Chrome Updatet (#HMT64)), and 2022 Bowman Platinum ice parallel (#84).

Travis Lee

I don’t know why I was inspired to look for Travis Lee rookie cards but I did.

Row 1: 1998 Topps Rookie Class (#R1), 1997 Bowman Chrome (#257), 1999 EX-Century (#20), and a 1999 Bowman Chrome International (#17).  Very happy with these cards!

Row 2: 1998 SPx #200 and #229.

Row 3: 1998 UD3 #1 and #91.

Nick Lodolo

Top row: 2022 Bowman Sapphire (#27), 2021 Bowman Chrome Positional Promise (#POS-NL), 2022 Allen & Ginter Chrome (#293) and a 2022 Bowman’s Best (#56).  It looks like a refractor but it doesn’t have the callout on the back.  So… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Bottow row: 2022 Bowman Platinum aqua ice (#39), 2021 Bowman Sterling (#BSP-11), 2022 Bowman Chrome (#27), and 2020 Bowman Sterling (#BPR-10)

Randy Johnson

Top row: 2020 Topps photo variation (#354), 2021 Tribute base and amethyst (#51), and 2020 Topps Turkey Red (#TR-11).

Bottom row: 2022 Stadium Club Trophy Hunters (#RL-29).

The second half will get uploaded soon, probably Monday.
