Back on June 8th, I got yet another shipment in from COMC. This was a smaller shipment; the next free shipping one will likely arrive in July is a little bigger. Let’s see what I picked out!
1999 Topps Gold Label
As I was building a Beckett trade, I checked to see if it was better to trade for a few items or to buy them. I got Nick Johnson (#33), Randy Johnson (#43), and Barry Bonds (#99).
Transcendent Kris Bryant
I got a few of the 2016-17 Transcendent VIP Party Kris Bryant cards. Top row is KB-1962, KB-1976, KB-1978, and KB-1981.
Bottom row is KB-1998, KB-1999, and KB-2000.
And yes, I already had KB-1982.
Transcendent Derek Jeter
In 2019, the Transcendent VIP Party Through the Years featured Derek Jeter. I got three of them: DJTY-1999, DJTY-2011, and DJTY-2016.
1989 35th Anniversary
I discussed my consternation with Topps and the 35th anniversary in my last shipment. I picked up a few of the 2024s: Christian Encarncion-Strand (regular #89B-65 and silver pack #T89C-88) and Mark McGwire (silver pack #T89C-99 and regular #89B-53).
2021 Tribute McGwire
Sorry for the poor photo. I got two parallels of 2021 Topps Tribute Mark McGwire (#25). I got an emerald and an amethyst.
Randomness
A 2000 Metal Pokey Reese emerald (#25), 2016 Bowman Platinum Willson Contreras (#TP-WC), 1984 Fleer Update Goose Gossage (#U-44), and 2023 Topps Pristine Corbin Carroll (#229).
More Trades Bought
More cards that I almost traded for but instead picked up. These include 2023 Topps Heritage (#209), 1997 Bowman Aramis Ramirez (#310), 2010 Topps “2020” Buster Posey (#T8), and 1999 Upper Deck Mark McGwire highlight / checklist (#248).
Chris Stynes
And finally … a 1998 Leaf Fractal Foundation “Fractal Materials” Chris Stynes #28. Woot!
A total of 28 cards with an 1981 Topps design, a 1984 Fleer Update, a Chris Stynes, a Metal Universe emerald, 1997 Bowman, 1999 Gold Labels, Mark McGwire … a lot of personal favorites!
