Maddux for You

I sent out half of a Beckett trade with flood and fire on Monday morning!  Yesterday, my cards came in the mail and Sarah just missed seeing the shiny cards.  With apologies to Belinda Carlisle, you could call this trade “Maddux For You”  🙂  Let’s take a vacation and go-go to it!

Boring Greg Maddux Cards

It wasn’t intentional, but I got a BUNCH of Greg Maddux cards in this trade.  I’m pretty happy that I got a lot of variety in this trade.

Top left to bottom right:  1997 Bowman (#256), 1999 Ultra (#1 and #217 Season Crown), 1994 Donruss (#380), Emotion (#106 … Intimidating!), 2001 Fleer Platinum (#103), 1991 Stadium Club (#126), and 2001 Donruss Classics (#8).

Exciting Maddux Cards

Chicks dig the long ball… I dig the refractor.  Top left to bottom:

1996 Metal Universe platinum parallel (#134), 1999 Fleer Brilliants (#95), 2000 Bowman retro parallel (#103), 2003 Bowman’s Best (#GM), 1999 Molten Metal (#136 supernatural), 1999 Gold Label class one (#72), 1998 Gold Label class one (#2), and 1996 Topps Laser (#121).

(mostly) Junk Wax

I really wished Terry Bulling was a rookie pitcher with like one win and the 300 wins was a combined total.  Nope, he was Gaylord Perry’s catcher for his milestone win (1983 Fleer #630).  The other three top cards are 1983 Topps: Gaylord Perry again (#463), Mike Schmidt Super Vet (#301), and Eddie Murray (#530).

Bottom row: 2010 Topps Vintage Legends Jimmie Fox (#VLC15), 2002 Ultra Nomar Garciaparra (#105), and 1993 Leaf Fred McGriff (#46) and Barry Bonds (#269).

More Maddux

Three 1993 Flair cards on top: Greg Maddux again (#7), Trevor Hoffman as an expansion Marlin (#135), and Frank Thomas (#189).  Top right is a 2015 Topps Chrome Gallery of Greats Paul Goldschmidt (#GGR27).

Bottom row starts with a 2017 Donruss ’83 Retro Variation Stephen Piscotty (#RV33).  Then, three 1996 Upper Deck: Livan Hernandex (#244), Derek Jeter (#156), and yep, Greg Maddux (#10).

More Variety

There’s a ton of variety in this trade.  Top left to bottom right:

1996 Fleer Smoke ‘n’ Heat Randy Johnson (#5), 2004 Throwback Threads (#88) and 2004 Bowman (#37) Roger Clemens, and a 2004 Absolute Memoriabilia Fans of the Game Dan Jansen (#254FG4).

Two Bowman Platinums: 2014 Jorge Soler (#BPP2) and 2016 Next Generation Kenta Maeda (#NG14).  Then, two 2007 Bowman’s Best: Ryan Howard (#24) and Albert Pujols (#31).

E-X

I -LOVE- the E-X brand.  He got a bunch of 2002; I got some too.

Left to Right: 1997 E-X 2000 Chipper Jones (#54) and three 2000 E-X:  Jeromy Burnitz (#45), Tony Gwynn (#4), and, you guessed it… Greg Maddux (#16).

And Lastly ....

If you guessed Greg Maddux … you’d be wrong.

He had a 2005 Pristine Legends “The College Years” Orel Hershiser (#106).

Final count:  45 cards for $75.05.  Tune in next time for maybe more Belinda Carlisle references and cards!
